World champion trotter Mission Brief was bred by Steve Stewart, Black Creek Farm and Andrea Lea Racing Stables, and was foaled on February 29, 2012 at Paris, Kentucky. Owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC, Our Horse Cents Stables, J&T Silva Stables LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC during her racing career, Mission Brief was trained by Ron Burke and driven by Yannick Gingras.
Mission Brief has a lifetime race record of 27-19-3-0 and earnings of $1,599,587. She is the fastest two-year-old trotter in history.
In 2014, freshman Mission Brief finished on the board in 9 of her 13 starts. Major victories
included the Breeders Crown, Merrie Annabelle and New Jersey Sires Stakes final, where she set a stakes record 1:53.3. In her sixteen-length International Stallion Stakes victory at The Red Mile, Mission Brief established the still-standing 1:50.3 world record for two-year-old trotters. In the Breeders Crown, Mission Brief set a divisional stakes record 1:51.4, besting by two seconds the record set the previous year. Mission Brief was voted 2014 Dan Patch Two-Year-Old Trotting Filly of the Year.
As a three-year-old in 2015, Mission Brief had 10 wins out of 14 starts with 3 seconds. Major victories included the Elegantimage, Matron Stakes, Zweig Memorial, Moni Maker,
Continentalvictory, Hambletonian elimination and New Jersey Sires Stakes final. Mission Brief was voted 2015 Dan Patch and O’Brien Three-Year-Old Trotting Filly of the Year.
