my little dragon
Bred by White Birch Farm of Allentown, New Jersey, three-time Breeders Crown winner and world champion pacing mare My Little Dragon was foaled on May 28, 2003.
A perfect six-for-six season, including a Breeders Crown win, led My Little Dragon to be named the best in her division as a two-year-old pacing filly in 2005. In 2006, despite another Breeders Crown victory and earnings of $898,627, she lost year-end honors to Darlin’s Delight.
Hampered by breathing problems as a four-year-old in 2007, My Little Dragon nonetheless paced what was, at the time, the fastest distaff mile ever of 1:48.1.
My Little Dragon rebounded in 2008 to score 10 wins in 22 starts and $817,567 in earnings, with victories in the Breeders Crown and Classic Distaff final. She was voted Dan Patch and O’Brien Older Pacing Mare in 2008.
My Little Dragon retired from her Hall of Fame-worthy racing career in 2009.
As a broodmare, the offspring that qualify My Little Dragon for the Hall of Fame are 2017 O’Brien Two-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year Stay Hungry p,3,1:47.3 ($1,303,709), winner of the 2017 Breeders Crown and 2018 Messenger Stake and Cane Pace; and 2022 Dan Patch Three-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year Treacherous Dragon p,3,1:49.1s ($1,033,697), winner of the 2022 Breeders Crown, Fan Hanover and Jugette.
