Biography: 

Trotting colt Nuncio was bred by Russell Williams and foaled on April 17, 2011 in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Owned during his racing career by Stall TZ Inc., Nuncio competed from 2013-2014 in North America and 2015-2017 internationally, compiling a domestic racing record of 27-16-10-1. He was trained by Jimmy Takter and driven by John Campbell. In his first four years of racing, both at home and abroad, Nuncio never finished off the board. Lifetime he has 63 starts with 42 wins, 14 seconds and 4 thirds.

As a two-year-old in 2013, Nuncio won five of ten races with five seconds. In his first start he defeated future Hall of Famer Father Patrick. His biggest win of the season was in the $166,650 Matron Stakes in a stakes record 1:53. Nuncio earned $461,074 as a freshman and ranked third among two-year-old moneywinning trotters.

In his sophomore season, Nuncio compiled a record of 17-11-5-1. His earnings of $1,458,071 made him the third-leading moneywinning Standardbred of 2014 in North America. Major victories included the Yonkers Trot, Kentucky Futurity, Matron Stakes and the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Final.

Four-year-old Nuncio relocated to Sweden in 2015, where he won the Sprintermästaren Final-G1, Swedish Breeders Crown Final-G1 and Solvalla Grand Prix-G2. As a five-year-old, Nuncio’s victories included the Elitlopp Final-G1, UET Trotting Masters Final-G1, Sundsvall Open Trot-G1, Jubileumspokalen-G1 and Oslo Grand Prix-G1. He was named Sweden’s 2016 Horse of the Year.
