HALL OF FAME TROTTER PINE CHIP, 29, DIES

Pine Chip, 29, a world champion and successful stallion on both sides of the Atlantic, died at Broline Stud in Sweden.

In his racing career, Pine Chip took a mark of 4,T1:51 and earned $1,710,858. He was voted Dan Patch Trotter of the Year and 3-year-old Trotting Colt of the Year in 1993 and Dan Patch Trotter of the Year and Older Trotting Horse of the Year in 1994. He was a world champion and entered the Hall of Fame in 2004.

He sired two winners of the Hambletonian, Chip Chip Hooray and Scarlet Knight, and is also the sire of the dam of Hambletonian winner Muscle Massive.
